The retreat

A six-day cycling escape for private groups of six to twenty-four riders. Based at a carefully chosen boutique hotel, with a local guide on every programmed ride, welcome and farewell dinners, and the afternoons left open for Girona and the coast.

The Girona and Costa Brava Cycling Escape keeps the essentials included and leaves the rest to you. A knowledgeable local guide leads every programmed ride and chooses the most rewarding roads for the group, and the hotel, the dinners and the logistics are taken care of.

It is designed to be easy to book and easy to enjoy: regular recreational cyclists, a clear base programme, and optional extras for the afternoons you want to fill. Distances, pace and elevation are tailored to your group before you travel.

  • Five guided rides, from a 30 to 40 km arrival spin to a 95 to 120 km Costa Brava signature day
  • A support vehicle on the signature day, with selected coffee stops, hydration and cycling snacks on the guided rides
  • A welcome dinner and a farewell dinner, with the rest of your afternoons and evenings your own
The rhythm

A light structure, carefully held

A typical shape for the days. Everything can be moved to suit your group.

  1. Day 1

    Arrival and first kilometres

A group transfer from the airport to the hotel, a welcome from the local team and time to assemble or fit the bikes. The guide leads an easy 30 to 40 km adaptation ride, followed by a relaxed welcome dinner of seasonal Catalan food and selected local wine.

  2. Day 2

    The Girona classics

After breakfast, 70 to 85 km through Girona’s most celebrated training roads, adapted to the group’s level, with a coffee stop included. Lunch and the afternoon are at leisure, to explore Girona, rest at the hotel or choose an optional experience.

  3. Day 3

    Empordà: villages and vineyards

A 75 to 90 km guided ride across quiet Empordà roads, linking medieval villages, olive groves and open countryside, with a local coffee stop. Lunch and dinner are left open. A winery or olive-oil experience can be arranged after the ride.

  4. Day 4

    Recover or keep exploring

A deliberately lighter day: an optional 40 to 50 km recovery ride, or a morning in Girona to yourselves. The afternoon is open for a spa, a massage, a coastal excursion, a private boat or a cultural visit, and we can pre-book any extra and arrange the transport.

  5. Day 5

    The Costa Brava signature ride

A 95 to 120 km ride on spectacular coastal and inland roads, with a dedicated support vehicle for this longest day. The route finishes with time to recover before a celebratory farewell dinner.

  6. Day 6

    A farewell spin

Depending on flight times, a final 30 to 45 km coffee spin closes the week. After breakfast and check-out, the scheduled group transfer takes you to the airport.

Questions

What to consider

When does it run?

From March to June and from September to November. Dates are confirmed with the hotel and the local team for your group.

What level of rider is it for?

Regular recreational cyclists. Distances, pace and elevation are tailored to the group before travel, and the guide adapts the routes to the weather and road conditions.

How many riders can come?

Private groups of 6 to 24 riders.

Can the programme be changed for our group?

Yes. Each retreat is a starting point. We can add or remove days, change the routes, simplify the programme or add private extras, and we will price what you actually want.

Are these retreats open to individual travellers?

They are built for private groups: clubs, friendship groups, communities and corporate teams. Tell us who is travelling and we will say whether the programme fits or what would work better.

What does joining the waitlist involve?

Places are deliberately small in number. The waitlist is a no-obligation way to hear about dates and prices first and to tell us what you would want from the trip. Nothing is booked until you have accepted a final proposal.

How is the price worked out?

Per person, from your group size, dates, room set-up and the extras you choose. Prices are confirmed with our partner before we quote them, so we will not give you a figure we cannot stand behind.

Are flights included?

No. Flights are not part of any of these retreats. We can look at flights alongside the programme if you would like us to.

The price depends on group size, travel dates, hotel availability, arrival airport, room set-up and the extras you choose. Flights and travel insurance are not included. All programmes are indicative until availability and rates are confirmed for your group.
