Why we don't list every retreat — Cherished's curation criteria

When we launched Cherished Retreats, we made a deliberate choice: we would not become a volume marketplace. You won't find hundreds of retreats listed here. You won't find every retreat that pays for placement.

Instead, we curate.

Our Selection Criteria

Every retreat in our collection must meet these non-negotiable standards:

• Verified Expertise: All lead instructors must hold minimum 500-hour certification, with additional training in their specialism.
• Authentic Practices: We do not list retreats that dilute wellness traditions for mass appeal. What you practice here is what has been practiced for centuries.
• Facility Standards: Clean, comfortable, conducive to deep work. We've inspected (in person or virtually) every property.
• Transformative Design: Programmes must be designed for lasting change, not temporary relaxation.
• Ethical Business Practices: Fair wages for staff, sustainable operations, transparent pricing.

Why This Matters

When you book through Cherished, you're not choosing from an algorithm. You're choosing from a collection assembled by editors who understand wellness at the deepest level.
